The Heart Behind Pebbles

Since he was a boy, Cameron remembers the warm vibrancy, calm atmosphere, and delectable smells wafting from his parents’ kitchen. Cheerful grins and belly laughs throughout the day completed the picture. That’s what life at the Gerber home has always been.

When an unexpected course of events found them with a restaurant space on a main highway, the Gerbers decided to give it a go. A few months and several experiments later, they served up their homestyle Mennonite food tradition in all-you-care-to-eat buffet style for the first time. They had no idea that bringing the atmosphere and flavours of their home to a new restaurant, Pebbles, would be such a hit. Word caught on like wildfire. Then Covid struck. From the silent kitchen came an idea and Pebbles Frozen Favourites was born.

The story continues. The Pebbles restaurant is once again welcoming guests to gather around the table, while Pebbles Frozen Favourites brings those same homestyle meals into homes across Ontario. Today, it’s easier than ever to enjoy the food, warmth, and memories that have always been at the heart of Pebbles.
